There's still time to #SaveConstantine

Those are the words of showrunner Daniel Cerone, which means the show isn't cancelled yet. It was a bad sign when NBC didn't order more episodes past their initial 13 - but it was a good sign when they decided to air all the ones they had, rather than holding them back. Apparently some of the executives at NBC like Constantine, even though the ratings weren't great. There's talk that it might be moved to SyFy (where its demon-fighting shenanigans would fit in better), so if you want to see the show continue, take to social media and make your voice heard! #SaveConstantine!

CGC Books Have Arrived!!!

We received our first batch of CGC books back from grading and we are very pleased with the results.
9 of the 11 books sent were graded at 9.8.

The other two books had been floating around the store for awhile so I'm not surprised with the lower grade (8.0 and 9.4).

I know there are a bunch of people waiting for our official CGC pricing, etc. I will have everything finished with CGC pricing by the end of this weekend and will post the CGC policy.

Our next scheduled shipment of books to be graded will be sent April 13.
There is a 60 day wait from CGC right now so if you decide you want to send books out expect to wait that long until you see them again.

If you are interested in CGC comics then come in and check out the really cool CGC 9.8 variant cover books we have available for sale.

I have only 1 copy of select graded books so when it's gone, it's gone for good.

UPDATE: 'All New, All Different Avengers' Full Cast Revealed

Deadpool gets a logo and synopsis, too

Hot on the heels of the official costume reveal, we now have some more imformation via the official site:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Still hard to believe this is really happening!

First shot of the DEADPOOL costume.

First Look at 'All- New, All- Different Avengers'

This cover is the first look at a cover being released on a Free Comic Book Day preview issue of the post- Secret Wars story. The two characters that have been revealed are the new, female Thor, and Ms. Marvel.

Here's what Marvel wrote about the book in the press release: "It's your first taste of the all-new Marvel Universe as a blockbuster top secret Avengers creative team sets out on a new adventure that will have fans begging for more! Who will be Earth's Mightiest Heroes when the dust settles from Secret Wars?"

Who else do you think is part of the team? Who do you want to see?

New Fantastic Four Movie Poster

Just because the movie is gonna suck and Marvel is trying to distance themselves from the franchise doesn't mean we aren't going to show you the new movie poster.

I'll probably still go to see it.

You won't believe how one small change could save the Batgirl variant cover!

Remember the creepy Batgirl variant that DC chose to cancel? Well look at how different the scene looks with just a tiny difference:

Rather than casting Batgirl as a victim, it shows her ready to kick some butt! In the first one, she's in trouble; in the second, Joker's in trouble. If it had looked like that from the beginning, a lot fewer people would have complained about it!

Directors of Avengers: Infinity War revealed

A sigh of relief for many Marvel cinema fans was just let out as it was just announced that Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War will be returning to direct the last two installments in the Avengers cinematic universe.

They're taking the reins from Joss Whedon, who directed the first two Avengers films, the second which will be released on May first.

No writers are yet attached to the project as of yet, but there is speculation that they will team up with writers from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

"Civil War, for which the brothers are in preproduction and which is considered to be a mini Avengers movie due to the large cast of heroes, has a May 6, 2016, release date. Infinity War - Part 1 and Infinity War — Part 2 are slated to be released May 4, 2018, and May 3, 2019, respectively."

"Hail Hydra" series

Rick Remender is hailing Hydra in the upcoming Marvel crossover, Secret Wars.

The story is summarized as, "The famed writer, who penned Marvel's last big event, AXIS, is creating another inverted world with Hail Hydra, a Secret Wars realm where S.H.I.E.L.D.'s evil counterpart, HYDRA, are the new standards in US Patriotism. In this world, HYDRA has dominated America for centuries, creating a Marvel Universe where its heroes and villains were born and raised on the organization's doctrines." [x]

The writer, in the interview at the above link, discusses his choice to write the series, saying that he wanted to explore what would have happened if Hydra had won. He said he had a whole lot of fun reimagining what characters would be like in this series, keeping most of the main characters, but introducing one new one.

Keep an eye out for Secret Wars coming this May! Reserve any titles you want today to make sure we order enough at the store!

New Comics On Sale - March 25, 2015

Remember the game "Mystery Date"?

You or a family member or a friend might have played it. In the '90s, it looked like this:

Look at that total dreamboat up in the corner!

His name was Tyler, and he was a surfer:

Ooh, he wants to meet you at Secret Beach! How romantic!

Does anybody know what ever became of that generically handsome boy?

NEW Avengers: Age of Ultron TV Spot

We finally got some action! And Tony Stark saying that Cap is the leader, in the only way he knows how. This has made me so much more excited for May 1st!

Feminist Thor is out-selling BoyThor

The new Thor series is selling about 20,000 more copies per month than the previous series was. Some of that is just the usual bump experienced by a new title (Marvel and DC keep rebooting things at #1 for a reason, you know, not just because they feel like it), and you can see the big drop after the first issue, but the new Thor is holding steady from month to month.

The new Thor's identity will be revealed soon, so now's a great time to join the crowd and add the book to your subscription list.

DC cancels "Batgirl" #42 Joker variant

One of the Joker-themed variant covers (scheduled for release this June) has stirred up a bit of a controversy:

Artist Rafael Albuquerque requested that DC cancel the cover:

My Batgirl variant cover artwork was designed to pay homage to a comic that I really admire, and I know is a favorite of many readers. 'The Killing Joke' is part of Batgirl's canon and artistically, I couldn't avoid portraying the traumatic relationship between Barbara Gordon and the Joker.

For me, it was just a creepy cover that brought up something from the character's past that I was able to interpret artistically. But it has become clear, that for others, it touched a very important nerve. I respect these opinions and, despite whether the discussion is right or wrong, no opinion should be discredited.

My intention was never to hurt or upset anyone through my art. For that reason, I have recommended to DC that the variant cover be pulled. I'm incredibly pleased that DC Comics is listening to my concerns and will not be publishing the cover art in June as previously announced.

With all due respect,

So if you liked the image or were hoping to own this variant, the best you can do now is print out a large copy for yourself.

The other Joker variants will be out in June. If there are any particular ones you're after - other than Batgirl #42 - let us know and we'll try to make sure you get one.

"I Zombie" premieres tomorrow night
