Welcome to an alternate 1940‘s reality. The year is 1947, and the war spawned by Germany’s invasion of Poland never ended - instead it grew and spread worldwide. In Dust Tactics, a tactical miniatures board game for 2-4 players, Allied and Axis forces clash over the revolutionary Vk, a rare and mysterious alien power source that fuels the construction of incredible World War II weaponry. Elite troops and massive combat robots wage violent battles to claim the world’s Vk deposits, because controlling Vk and denying it to the enemy could inevitably decide the outcome of the war.
In Operation "SeeLöwe", the upcoming expansion for Dust Tactics, the Allies are desperate; they face catastrophic losses across the coast of Great Britain so dire that they have no choice but to split their focus, sending Her Majesty’s fleet to face the Axis Kriegsmarine in the Channel, and leaving the naval base at Scapa Flow defenseless...or so it seems.
With eight exciting scenarios that tell the story of the attack on Scapa Flow and its defenses, new tiles, and new heroes, Operation “SeeLöwe” ensures that the battlefield will never be the same. Players can also blast new energy into their Dust Tactics experience with two new walker expansions for Dust Tactics: the Allied Light Assault Walker expansion and the Axis Light Panzer Walker expansion, each including one customizable walker body with two possible weapon configurations, bring agility and deadly weapon systems to your Dust Tactics troops.
The new heroes introduced in Operation “SeeLöwe”, along with past heroes, can take advantage of an exciting new ability that is also introduced: "Heroic Attack". Use this ability to change the course of the battle. Once per game, an activated hero can use Heroic Attack until the end of the round. This ability makes the hero and any squad he joins invulnerable to all attacks against him/them, while the hero/squad, can act normally, move, and attack.
Stationed at the naval base of Scapa Flow are both Allied scientists who are rushing to finish the development of a revolutionary new type of aircraft carrier, and a special division of ASOCOM. They will prove a difficult challenge for the Axis forces. With such a formidable enemy, Axis players will want to expand their armies to include the new Axis walker expansion. The Light Panzer Walker expansion includes one primed, unpainted body that can be customized to either Heinrich or Hermann with the included weapon attachments, both offering advantages for any Axis general to bring onto the battlefield.
With one of the most deadly weapon systems seen since the beginning of the war Heinrich can crush an entire squad, whether or not it’s equipped with heavy armor and engage enemies from a great distance. Heinrich’s incredible firepower derives from its four, powerful FlaKvierling cannons. The Axis’ newest light footed anti-tank robot,Hermann, elicits the same uneasiness in your opponent as Heinrich. With a revolutionary laser cannon Hermann can annihilate your opponent early in the game, find Hermann a secure position and use its sustained fire to waste any Allied armored unit.
The stimulating expedition of Operation “SeeLöwe” offers players new tactical decisions in an urban environment. The new tiles bring the first buildings into the game: normal buildings and hangars. Buildings yield their own special rules that can influence a player’s strategy. Squads and heroes are the only units that qualify to jump over buildings and hangars or enter them, vehicles cannot. Additionally, buildings offer players two forms of cover: soft and hard, depending on whether the squad is targeted from within the building or from outside. Squads can only attack or be attacked if they are on a square of the building or hangar that has an exit.
The secret Axis organization, Blutkreuz Korps, has deployed to Scapa Flow with one mission: capture the new Allied ship or destroy it! An Allied general, desiring to terminate this Axis threat on the battlefield, must bring the best of the best to the front lines. Thenewest Dust Tactics Light Assault Walker, either Wildfire or Honey, provides players with a multitude of advantages. The Light Assault Walker expansion features one primed, unpainted Allied walker, with two attachments to create either the fearsome Wildfire or the nimble Honey.
Created by Allied scientists, Wildfire’s dreadful weapon system will be a match for any Axis weaponry. The four heavy machine guns that top this light-weight robot fire simultaneously, delivering a deluge of firepower that lights up the darkest battlefield, while the walker’s high mobility and incredible agility can take a careless enemy by surprise. There is nothing sweet about Honey except for its name. With a new next-generation phaser weapon system, this anti-tank is ready to erase your enemy from the board.
Operation “SeeLöwe” includes new rules that instruct players on how phasers effectgameplay. The phaser shoots a concentrated ball of energy that explodes on impact, thanks to the Allied scientists experimenting with the abilities of Vk. While a player can aim the phaser, he cannot control the explosion it triggers or the damage dealt. The damage a phaser produces is decided by a dice roll that determines how much the phaser “touches” the enemy, followed by a dice roll that determines how powerful the explosion is.
Also included in Operation “SeeLöwe” is the never-before-read history of the Axis and one of the cornerstones of their forces: the Blutkreuz Korps. Discover how and why this secret organization was born, and what motivates their sinister quest for absolute power.
